About
One maker. One machine. Prague.
Dareczech is read like the Czech word “dáreček” – a little gift. And that's exactly how every piece should feel: a small joy for the day you don't want to wear what everyone else wears.

About me
I sew the pieces I'd want to find myself.
My name is Káťa and Dareczech is just me. At home in Prague I pick materials, unpick seams, try out cuts, sew and fuss over details until an idea becomes a finished piece. I like things that aren't entirely straight, entirely common or entirely expected. Every Dareczech should be a small surprise – a gift you get yourself, just because.

Why only once
Because some things lose their magic the moment they start repeating. A piece comes from a particular fabric, a particular mood, a particular idea. And once someone chooses it, it's theirs.

Materials with a past
I love working with fabrics and clothes that have already had a first life. An older shirt, leftover material or a forgotten pattern can turn into something that makes sense again.

At home, not on a line
Dareczech isn't made in a factory or some big workshop. It's made at home in Prague, slowly and piece by piece. Every stitch is part of a process that can't quite be automated – which is exactly why it stays personal.
Sewing from an idea
Do you have a fabric, a shirt or an idea that could become a new piece? Write to me. Not everything can be sewn – but I'm happy to see whether it could turn into something you'll actually wear.
